Manual Focus Controls Logitech C920 On

broken image

I make a bunch of video with a Logitech c920, and I have problems with the autofocus because I occasionally want to focus the camera on something other than my face, for example if I have objects on a desk in front of me. But the problem is that I have trouble getting the c920 to lock onto objects with the autofocus.
On something like a cellphone, I'd just tap the thing to make it focus on an arbitrary point. But I can't figure out how to do this with the c920. I've read through the documentation, etc. I also tried doing this with Logitech's camera control software, but I'm having problems because using the controller software doesn't work while OBS is running. Doing this through OBS directly is not a great solution, either, because the manual camera control is very awkward to use while shooting video. It's not a great answer. I don't have anybody to help me shoot this video, so having somebody else manually focus is not an option, either.
Does anybody know, is there some kind of middleware that I can use to more precisely control the c920, then feed that video to OBS?

View and download the Manual of Logitech C920 HD Pro Webcam (page 1 of 28) (English). Also support or get the manual by email. Auto-focus — Auto-focus is enabled by default on the HD Pro Webcam C920. You can also manually adjust the depth of field on your camera. Click on the checkbox next to Auto-focus, then drag the slider to the right to increase and to the left to decrease. Advanced Settings. Two problems: 1. OBS overrides the Logitech camera software, so you cannot use the Logitech camera software to manually adjust focus while recording in OBS. Using manual focus takes a fairly.

If all the cameras are doing it then presume its a setup. However I understand that you are using Zoom which before when we've tested between Zoom and Teams the MS Teams has been better for video capability so unsure if there might be a Zoom setting conflicting with the cameras but it's hard to say.

By any chance do the cameras have an option for a new driver install or are they update to date? I don't think the driver would be the case but you could that a try and see where you get
